Shanghai / China Lockdown update -16/05/2022
17.05.2022

Dear All Friends ,

We would keep you updated with the latest developments regarding Shanghai Lockdown and Omicron impacts .

Shanghai reported 69 locally transmitted COVID-19 cases, 869 local asymptomatic infections, 4 deaths on Sunday.

Apart from Shanghai, 8 other provincial-level regions on the mainland report new local COVID-19 cases(Omicron), including 39 cases in Beijing.  Chao Yang district in Beijing where our office  is in “lockdown“ and “closed loop management“ policy , Fracht Beijing staffs have to work from home since last week .

According to Shanghai Government official statement on May.16th , Life and business activities plan to  return to normal from Jun.1st to mid-to-late Jun., As the COVID-19 pandemic has been effectively controlled.

Under the city's three-phase opening-up plan, from now to May 21 precautionary areas will open in an orderly manner with limited movement and effective control. The city will keep "low social movement" during this period to prevent a resurgence.

From May 22 to the end of May, the locked-down and controlled areas will be further reduced and eventually eliminated to accelerate the shift to normality from June.

Public transport, trains and domestic flights will gradually resume.

Shopping malls, supermarkets, restaurants and pharmacies will gradually and orderly resume offline operation as the city is scheduled to promote a staged resumption of commercial business and market.

As per previously shared News, some of manufactories are on white list operating under “closed loop production “, most of the warehouse in our industry are open and operating with reduced capacity, more trucking is available and more cargo is able to be shipped from Shanghai. The bottle neck is still there , every other city or location implements strict own varied covid control policy, cargo collecting or deliver in/out Shanghai is still facing challenges and heavy cost. Please check with us case by case for the best solutions . At present, we still recommend NBO / YTZ River delta feeder port as alternative depending on cargo location status .

PVG inbound /outbound cargo flight resume more since May and are gradually increasing, but passenger flight policy has not changed,

Chinese airlines are still re-routed to other CN airport, foreign airlines are either ordered to suspend & cancel or reduce seating rate to 40%.

We’ll keep you updated step by step, we hope Sanghai lockdown could be ending as per above schedule.

Thank you again, for your support and patience during the difficult time. We received a lots of warm regards, we are most grateful !

Thks & Rgds
