Dear Sirs,

Government t of Pakistan, Ministry of commerce has issued orders (SRO) on 19 May 2022 to put ban on import of luxurious and non-essential commodities into Pakistan through import policy order. The list of the newly added banned commodities description (PCT Code) is attached.

Further to these orders and to answer the concerns from business community, Pakistan Ministry of commerce has also issued a press release clarifying that the imports where Bill of lading or irrevocable letter of credit issued or established prior to the notification dated 19 May 2022 shall be exempt from these orders and shall not be subject to the prohibitions contained in these orders.
