« back

Dear Colleagues,

Please note that yesterday evening at 20.00hrs the Dutch Government has declared today; Wednesday 23-07-2014 as a National Memorial Day for the 193 Dutch victims and for the total of 298 victims of flight MH17.

Only yesterday evening it became clear that the train with the first remains of the victims would arrive this morning in the city of Kharkov. From Kharkov 2 special military flights will immediately leave for Eindhoven Airport.

Arrival of these two planes is expected at 16.00 hours today. To ensure no problems occur and out of respect the Dutch skies will be closed for all (!!) flight traffic for the 13 minutes the planes arrive into Dutch airspace.

Following to this announcement it has been mutually decided amongst government, companies and other organizations within the Netherlands to declare 1 minute of silence today at 16.00 hours out of respect for the victims.

Please note that for this reason within the time frame of 15.55 hours up to 16.05 hours today our phones will not be answered and mails will not be replied to.

We trust all will understand,

Met vriendelijke groet / With kind regards / Mit freundlichen Gruessen,

Schiedam, 23-07-2014

Hans-Peter Kuppens
