« back

The Kuwait Customs through Kuwait Shipping Companies & Agents Association (KSCAA) has issued a new customs rule in regards to the requirements for the method of loading and stowing of cargoes. Please be advised to comply with the following conditions, effective from 7 October 2017:

  • All import and export cargo, including Full Container Load (FCL) and Less than Container Load (LCL) shipment in and out of Kuwait, needs to be palletized.

  • If the cargo is found to be non-palletized upon customs inspection, it will be stopped by the Kuwait Customs.

  • The local customs will impose a penalty fee of KD80 to the customer directly, subject to additional service charges for non-compliance.

  • The cargo will only be released, once such fees have been paid in full.

  • Exception due to nature of cargo: Out-of-gauge cargo and cargo which cannot be placed on pallets, are excluded.

To avoid any complications, delays or additional costs, we would like to remind all customers to be in compliance with the customs procedure.

  • with best regards / mit freundlichen Grüßen
