strikes in France

Dear friends,

Within the framework of a tense social context,  the French ports have been experiencing various blockings for more than 3 weeks.

3 new days of strikes are already scheduled this week (Monday to Wednesday)

Despite the strong mobilization of our operational teams to handle your files on a smooth and regular basis, some of our transport and logistics services may not be provided within the usual time frame allowed by shipping lines / port yards due to cancellations/lack of appointments, changes in port closures,  vessel omissions …

Please keep close contact to our teams in France to know if those strikes will generate additional unexpected costs (detention, demurrage, storage, perturbation in deliveries…etc) to your files due to the impossibility to operate because of those actions from the Unions.

Best regards,

PS :
Reasons of those strikes are the implementation of a new law to increase the age of retirement from 62 to 64 years old.We will know within tonight if the law is going to be applicable or not.

Then, if applicable there will be an action to the constitutional council from those against this law, and within a month the council will decide if this is constitutional or not.

So, we might face some difficulties still up to end of April, and then hopefully it will calm down…or not…

We will keep you informed of the evolution of this strike movement.
